Environmental Affairs
What We Do
The role of the Environmental Affairs Department is to communicate with the students and determine their concerns related to environmentally friendly solutions within their schools, to work with the Legislative and Academic Affairs department to draft testimonies related to environmental issues, to develop resources for students addressing possible actions to become environmentally friendly, and to ensure that recycling is practiced at all meetings.
Director Bio
Hi! My name is Bela Benitez-Young. I'm a rising 8th grader at North Bethesda Middle School and am serving as a director of Environmental Affairs for the 2026-2027 school year. In my free time, I love to read, play the cello and am on my school's tennis team. So excited to work with everyone this year!
